Chihiro once said she would like to be something like "Onitsuka Department Store". When she said this she meant she was willing to produce as diverse works as possible.
Aside from "Ii Hi..." and "Mamotte Agetai", which are not her own writing, "Sign" makes a clear distinction to the rest of her works. With its very positive lyrics, this number sounds exceptionally pop for her music. In fact, it resulted from her brainwork, not from an outburst of her emotions. And she smiles in its promotional video.
Incidentally, she made interesting comments in different interviews.
She was successful in showing that she could make different kinds of music—different from the darker and emotional ones—if only she wished.
"Sign" is a nice, lovable song. As I watched the video, I recalled the sweet experience at the autograph session.
